debian-watch-file-specifies-old-upstream-version
The watch file specifies an upstream version number which matches
the upstream portion of an old debian/changelog
entry, and the
current debian/changelog
entry specifies a newer upstream
version. The version number in the watch file is very likely to be
incorrect and probably should be replaced with the current expected
upstream version. Otherwise, DEHS and similar projects will think the
package is out of date even when it may not be.
The tag is present in Lintian version 2.114.163
.
That is the most recent version we know about.
We use semantic versions.
The patch number is a commit step indicator relative to the
2.114.0
release tag in our Git
repository.
You can find the detection logic for this version at commit c1c05b0. For merge requests, please use the latest version in the Lintian check debian/watch.
